Church Langton CE Primary School celebrates positive Ofsted inspection

Church Langton CE Primary School is celebrating a highly positive Ofsted inspection report, which highlights the school’s nurturing environment, strong academic outcomes and commitment to ensuring every child feels valued, supported and successful.

Inspectors praised the school for creating a “calm, nurturing and friendly environment” where pupils “feel that they belong and are safe”, while recognising the strong relationships that exist between staff, pupils and families.

The report found that attendance is consistently above national averages, behaviour is highly positive and pupils demonstrate kindness, respect and consideration for one another. Inspectors noted that pupils “love their school” and described them as “welcoming, friendly and polite”.

The inspection also recognised the school’s strong academic performance. Outcomes at the end of Key Stage 2 remain consistently above national averages in reading, writing and mathematics, with inspectors concluding that “many pupils are well prepared for the next stage in their education.”

The school’s inclusive ethos was another key strength highlighted throughout the report. Inspectors found that leaders have high expectations for all pupils and ensure that children receive the support they need to thrive, both academically and personally. The school’s nurture provision, The Cove, was recognised as an important part of the support available to pupils.

Beyond the classroom, inspectors praised the wide range of enrichment opportunities available, including sport, music, leadership roles, educational visits and residential experiences. Activities such as basketball, dance and the school’s successful brass band were specifically highlighted, alongside opportunities for pupils to develop confidence and leadership skills.

Headteacher James Ross said: “We are delighted that the inspection recognised what makes Church Langton such a special place to learn and grow. The report reflects the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and, most importantly, the wonderful children who make our school community so special.

“It is particularly pleasing to see inspectors recognise the warm, caring environment we provide and the strong outcomes our pupils achieve. We are proud of our school and remain committed to ensuring every child flourishes academically, socially and emotionally.”

The report also recognised the positive relationships between the school and its families, noting that parents are highly positive about the support their children receive.
